Terms of Service
Effective date: March 6, 2026
This is information only — not legal or tax advice.
CRA Navigator uses AI to help you understand your CRA letter. The output is a starting point — not a substitute for advice from a qualified accountant, tax lawyer, or CRA representative. Always verify important decisions with a professional.
1. Who we are
CRA Navigator (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a software service that helps Canadians understand letters from the Canada Revenue Agency. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with the Government of Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency, or any government body.
By using CRA Navigator, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What the service does and does not do
CRA Navigator will:
- Read and analyze CRA letter text you submit.
- Return a plain-English summary, estimated deadline, and a suggested action checklist.
- Flag whether professional advice may be warranted.
CRA Navigator will not:
- Provide legal advice, tax advice, or accounting advice.
- Represent you before the CRA.
- File any documents on your behalf.
- Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any analysis.
- Replace a qualified tax professional, CPA, or lawyer.
3. Not legal or tax advice — important disclaimer
The analysis provided by CRA Navigator is generated by AI and is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice, tax advice, accounting advice, or any professional advice of any kind. No attorney-client or accountant-client relationship is formed by using this service.
AI systems can make mistakes. The analysis may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. CRA rules, deadlines, and procedures change. You should not rely solely on CRA Navigator output to make decisions about your tax situation, response to the CRA, or any legal matter.
If your situation involves a significant amount of money, a legal deadline, a CRA audit, or potential penalties, please consult a qualified tax professional before taking action.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Canadian law, CRA Navigator and its founder, officers, and agents will not be liable for any damages arising from:
- Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated AI analysis.
- Missed deadlines, penalties, or interest charges resulting from reliance on our output.
- Any decision you make based on information from this service.
- Errors in how your letter was interpreted or summarized.
- Service outages, data loss, or technical failures.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 CAD — whichever is greater.
Some Canadian provinces do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability — in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.
5. Your responsibilities
By using CRA Navigator you agree to:
- Only submit letters that you have the right to share (i.e., your own CRA correspondence, or correspondence you are legally authorized to handle on someone else's behalf).
- Not submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information.
- Not use the service for any unlawful purpose.
- Keep your account credentials secure and not share them.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
6. Payments and refunds
CRA Navigator offers a one-time Letter Pack purchase ($25 CAD) and a Pro Annual subscription ($99 CAD/year). All prices are in Canadian dollars and include applicable taxes where required.
7-day money-back guarantee: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, contact us within 7 days at support@cranavigator.ca and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.
Subscription plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged again, and you retain access until the period ends.
7. Intellectual property
The CRA Navigator software, design, and branding are owned by us. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without written permission.
The letter text you submit remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to process it for the sole purpose of providing the analysis service. We do not claim ownership of your letters.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. It forms part of these Terms. By using the service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The current version is always available at cranavigator.ca/terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province of Ontario, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
